Russia's permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Dmitry Polyansky, told a regular meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on October 22 that French authorities had for years created social problems and then, he said, unleashed terror against their own citizens, primarily children.
He said irresponsible French leadership had done everything possible to ensure unrest would erupt, citing chronic underfunding of educational institutions, uncontrolled migration, overcrowded classrooms, dilapidated school buildings and unsanitary conditions. He said social protests had erupted on that ground. He added that Paris had for years been taking money from its own citizens to benefit what he called the corrupt Ukrainian regime, and could then think of nothing better than force against fellow citizens, primarily children.
Polyansky said human rights advocates compare the consequences of excessive force to injuries sustained in combat. He said more than 200 teenagers had been injured and more than 6,500 people detained, the vast majority of them minors.
